I'm kind of new here and I want to stay within the rules. Can a more experienced contributor help me with this

In less than a minute after I posted my question about joining a religion, it was deleted. It contained a description of a heinous act committed by extremists within an unnamed religion. I sarcastically asked if I could join such a religion. Was my question deleted because of the violent nature of the description, (which was true...it happened recently), or because it is considered dangerous or improper to mention what some people do in the name of their religion? Could it be that somebody thought I was making it up? In that case, I would understand why it was deleted.
