Old Recipes - 50s and 60s in particular?

I found a 50's salad book in a shop the other day - its truly bizarre, every comes from cans- tuna, crab, peas, corn, even the ham and everything is molded and in gelatin- egg centers piped and lots of fruit from cans with savory. Apple snow salad, lots of mayo and celery. Sparkling citrus salad - canned friut, paprika and ginger beer. Avocado, gfruit salad - mashed avo and gfruit (canned ) with green pepper in lime flavoured gelatin. Oh to be a 1950's house wife and make different jellies all day. But thats just salads to go with the apricot chicken cerole
