Is it strange to be proud of my Mexican heritage?

But not actually living under mexican culture (music, food, dancing, etc). I am an american born mexican I am proud to be both american and mexican but I am more americanized so I wasn't born under the mexican culture (my mom is mexican) (my dad is mexican american) so I am not too connected with the culture. I have read about mexican culture and I take pride in the revolutionaries and the natives like the aztecs, zapotecs, mayans, etc.
