Another Science Question 10 points!!?

The reason the Chernobyl nuclear plant melted down istead of expolding like a fission bomb is because the uranium-235 reached its melting point before the chain reaction could take effect when this happens instead of expolding it melts. Which since it is very hot will melt the things around it, leaving a terrible stench.
