Do you think the United States is at any risk of secession in the future?

I know this is a ridiculous question but I really want to know what everyone thinks given the heated exchanges between liberals and conservatives over the last few years and especially in the last year or so. Do you think the animosity demonstrated by liberals towards conservatives and vice versa is representative of where the majority of Americans stand today or is it just a case of the media stoking the flames by focusing on the fringe on both sides? Please intelligent answers only. I'm not American but I have family all over so obviously I don't want the country to secede at all.
